Madman Szalinski here. I’ve been an e-fedder since 1997. I guess I’m kinda good at it. I don’t know. I’m not the person to ask.
Anyways, you might be wondering what e-fedding is. You might be wondering why you’re even here reading about it. Or maybe you know what it is and you just want to read about my take on it.
This is my definition and introduction to this wonderful hobby of ours.
E-fedding is a lot of work. But it won’t feel like work if you truly enjoy it. You must love wrestling, and you must love writing. If you have a love for those two things, you have everything you need to be an e-fedder. E-fedding is a creative art, in which you will create a character and you will become this character through your writing. You will literally begin to feel as if you are actually this character, living life through their eyes. Without making it sound too creepy, you literally do sort of become this person.
And it’s fun. It’s really fun. You get to be a wrestler, and you get to be in matches. You get to win some of those matches, and eventually you might get to win a title, or the devotion of your fans.
Everyone playing this game is the same as you. They love wrestling and they love writing. They’re creative people who just want to have fun and possibly meet other people such as yourself. This is a community with open doors. We are an extremely eclectic bunch. People from all walks of life play this game, and all are connected through it.
Once in a while, you can even take one of your online friends back to the real world with you.
Does this sound like fun? Are you a wrestling fan? Do you enjoy creative writing? Would you like to live the dream life of a pro wrestler? You just wanna make some new friends?
It is my goal to give you something that I only wished I had when I started playing this game. An introduction. I want to show you what e-fedding is, and how you can be a part. I want you to see how these people write these RPs you may have read, and how you can write something like that. Not an exact copy, but your own creation.
And I figure I better let you know about all the unwritten rules of the game; stuff you won’t find in any rulebook, but stuff you’ll want to know before joining just any ole’ fed and jumping into the boards. I want you to be prepared for the new hobby you’re looking into.
Thank God that I had several members of the community who were willing to help me out with this. You’ll see their names sprinkled throughout this series. I sincerely thank them all for both their contributions to these articles, as well as their contributions overall to the hobby of e-wrestling. I also thank Ben Halkum, the owner of eWmania, for both hosting this series of articles and for the numerous resources he has provided to the hobby over the years. After all, this isn’t just my game. It’s everyone’s. It’s only fitting that everyone gets to pitch in their words of wisdom to any newcomers into our game.
I really hope this is right for you.
Welcome to e-fedding.
